ADUP Hawaii is when Hawaii’s marketing, advertising, public relations, social media, videographers and artists of all kinds come together to help the Hawaiian community. The event is al about socialising and preparing a marketing campaign for pre-selected non-profit organisation. I was lucky to be a part of it and had to write some words about my experience.

The event was split up in two different locations each on separate places. On Thursday prior to the event we had a mix party on Fresh Café Downtown Honolulu, where everyone got to know their team. My team was named nothing more original then “Team Extreme.” ADUP presented the sponsors, held speeches and served free food made, and served by the café. This worked as a brilliant introduction to the event. On Saturday we meet up at 8 p.m. on The box Jelly, Ala Moana in Honolulu. We had a complementary breakfast and listened to six different volunteer organisations. Each team was later given their volunteer organisation and was to create a creative marketing campaign in only eight hours. During the workshops I talked to industry professionals and learned a lot from MVNP’s creative Director Vince.

Around 6 p.m. we had presentations and a winner was announced. The whole event was wrapped up with a wrap up party. Free beer, vine, and food worked as elegant prices to the teams who had worked so hard the entire day.

Great event made possible by: Ad2 Honolulu.
