HDT HAWAII

HDT HAWAII COMPANY CATALOG

Hawaii Dialogix Telecom is Hawaii's fastest growing internet service provider with a need for brand consistency. In my first meeting with the company I was given the creative brief and a set of inspirational ideas along with a design manual. The challenge was to turn something functional and existing into something modern and completely new. To meet the creative brief I had to find a way to integrate the colors and tone of HDT, and turning the catalog into something unique and original.

The completed design-solution is a playful illustrated style that finds it seriousness in hard black information boxes. The design bears the mark of flat icons surrounded by plenty of white space. To keep the product of internet visible I would include real photos that showed technology and advancement along with appropriate vector icons.

The most challenging part of the project was creating the illustrated map of Oahu seen above. Countless hours went down to research and detail work in the buildings where HDT provides Wi-fi internet. The map is aimed towards people that are living on the Island and therefor small unique "local" landmarks was included in the final visualization.

To complete the catalog a detailed street map was included on the last page. The map can resemble a chipboard of a computer, but is in fact a real Google Earth replica of Honolulu International Airport where HDT's main office is located.

// Good luck guys.
